IFAI's Code Committee
The code committee was formed because building codes have a wide-ranging affect on many members of our industry and the members in these product areas should work together in assessing the codes that affect them. The committee work will be to define terms impacting membership, identifying areas with the International Building Code that reference our members’ products, and identify areas that should reference members products.

Members of this committee are: Banner, Flag and Graphics Association Patrick Hayes, Fabric Images Inc.; Bonnie Goodwin, Snyder Mfg. Inc., Jan Shieffer, IFAI Staff Lightweight Structures Association: Wayne Rendely, Ronald E. Shaeffer, PE; Florida A and M University; Beth Hungiville, IAI Staff; PAMA Doug Dubay Professional Awning Manufacturers Co. Inc; Michael Reilly, Miami Beach Awning Co. Inc., Michelle Sahlin of the IFAI Staff Professional Awning Manufacturers Assoication, IFAI Staff Tent Rental Division Kathy Schaefer, Glawe Mfg. Co; Spencer Etzel, Maximizer Tent Products/SEC Sales Group, Jan Shieffer, IFAI Staff Graphics and Banner Division, Julie Case, IFAI Information and Technical Services Manager Kathy Mattson, IFAI Manager of Divisions/Membership Services.

IFAI's Code Committee has agreed on the following definitions for the awning industry:
