The Professional Awning Manufacturers Association Board of Directors is the governing body as well as the representative of the PAMA membership. The role of the board in total and the responsibility of each individual board member is to become familiar with the division mission statement, and the accompanying current objectives.

The board of directors, in order to implement the divisions mission and objectives, should consider the role which would include the following:

• Represent and act in the best interests of the PAMA membership
• Be accountable for the professional management of the PAMA
• Be accountable for the financial condition of the PAMA
• Formulate division policy
• Identify issues that are important to the industry
• Establish direction for the PAMA
• Develop and augment programs that will enlighten and educate both the membership and the public at large
• Develop and publish brochures, booklets, videos, and informational papers which can be purchased by the membership to assist with their marketing efforts
• Promote new PAMA membership
• Lead the volunteer participation in the PAMA
• Serve as a resource for the PAMA Division Manager
